Research at Ekathra fuels thoughtful tourism – shaping sustainable practices, empowering communities, and guiding action through local insight

Research is a fundamental component of Ekathra Experiences. It is used as a tool to develop sustainable perspectives in community tourism, need analysis processes, tourism product development and design tourism packages. The organization facilitates field-based and action research on diverse topics such as community tourism, sustainable development, impact of tourism in villages and communities, the effects of climate change in tourism, disaster preparedness, climate-resilient livelihoods, organic farming and value addition, as well as the role of women in sustainable community tourism. Ekathra also supports and guides external researchers and volunteers through methodological and logistical aspects in conducting their field-based studies and action researches. The results of these studies are shared through training programs, social media platforms, as well as national and international media outlets.
