Ekathra’s Experiential Learning Locations
Exploring Kerala’s living classrooms – where culture, nature, and community come together
Ekathra works closely with diverse communities across Kerala to promote community-based sustainable tourism initiatives. Among these, we have carefully selected a few destinations to host our Experiential Learning Programmes, guided by specific criteria that ensure meaningful engagement and high-quality learning experiences.
Each chosen location meets essential parameters such as accessibility, diversity of landscapes, unique cultural identity, strong community dynamics, availability of reliable service providers, and the presence of local coordinators and subject experts.
Based on these considerations, Thrikkaipetta village in Wayanad, Thattekadu in Ernakulam, Mankulam in Idukki, Arattupuzha in Alappuzha, Payyanur in Kannur, and Valiyaparamba in Kasaragod have been identified as our key learning destinations.
These locations offer a safe and comfortable environment for participants, with authentic local cuisine, strong community support, and opportunities to interact with academicians, practitioners, and field experts. Together, they form a diverse network of learning landscapes—where students and travellers can immerse themselves in Kerala’s ecological richness and cultural depth while contributing to sustainable development.
